This is a governor arm shaft found on lawnmowers, chippers, and other engines on lawn and garden equipment. It is a component of the governor assembly maintains a steady speed regardless of how much stress is placed on the engine. The governor arm is connected to the carburetor arm shaft. One end of this arm is connected to the governor spring and the other to the throttle linkage. Speed is increased or decreased based on the amount of push or pull that is placed on the throttle arm.
