Casey R Sunnyvale , CA April 12, 2021 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer ATF7000ES1 Sagging washer door on Frigidaire front load washer. I've had a sagging door on my washer forever. Decided to fix it when I replaced the drive belt. Ordered the $75 part which is very easy to replace. Unfortunately when I took the door apart I realized that not only did the door hinge need to be replaced but also the very small and fragile plastic tabs on the washer door outer trim had broken off. Without those plastic tabs there is nothing to hold the door hinge in the proper position to fix the sagging door. I ordered the washer door outer trim (a $280 item) and waiting to receive it to fix the washer, I hope. With new belt, shock absorbers, door latch lock switch, door hinge and outer door trim I'm just about $500 in parts into a over 10 year old washer. I'm starting to wonder if that wouldn't have been better spent towards a new washing machine. John H Saint Petersburg , FL January 31, 2017 Appliance: Model ORDER #7302512 CHECK THIS, FRIGIDAIRE FRONT LOAD Broken door latch and hinge was sagging Ordered new door latch and door hinge. Arrived within 1 day, amazing. Watched the video and thought it would be an easy fix. Problems encountered - Needed to use an impact driver on the hinge screws to get them to come out. Hinge screws were frozen. The driver made easy work of it after liberal application of WD-40,. Add that to your video. Once the door was removed there was an issue with the rusted Phillips head by the door handle. Back to the impact driver and WD-40. With that removed I discovered the door hinge is held in place by two plastic tabs on the door that were broke off. That's the reason door was sagging, not the hinge itself. Placed several washers in the hinge pocket to take up the slack and bolted it all back up. Leveled the machine and still have an issue with the door latch lining up with the latch receptacle. Problem is the tabs on the door frame itself. Bad design and designed to fail. Typical. Thanks for the exceptionally timely delivery! Ronald A Durham , NC February 22, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer FAFW3801LW2 I had a broken hinge and striker i rent to student and apparently the striker broke first and they were lifting the door to get it to latch and wash I was an easy repair. I only needed a screw driver to remove all screws from the door, hinge and striker. The hardest part was pulling the machine out of the space I had designed to hold it. Katharine S North Andover , MA September 28, 2019 Appliance: Model AFFINITY WASHER 2014 MODEL Washer door internal plastic structures warped and then broke for the second time I had to replace the two plastic outer frames and the hinge assembly. It was no problem to fix but such a bummer that it had broken in the same way- twice. The glass window is so heavy- too heavy for the internal plastic parts. My family drys their own laundry- kids included so I’m afraid this machine requires a gentler touch. Does a good job washing though!
