Amy O Cincinnati , OH August 31, 2022 My washer has cracked outer door panel and a bent hinge. Which is causing the door to not close easily and is about ready to fall off! I changed out the front panel and hinge. The door works fine now. It was a little more difficult to get screws out and back in than shown on the how-to video. The video was helpful but ended up needing to borrow some tools from a friend. The power tools did the trick! I also ordered the door panel first then the hinge. I did not realize at first that the hinge was bent. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Johanna K Concord , CA June 16, 2019 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer FFFS5115PW0 Hinge inner door and outer door were broken First the diagram of the washer parts was very helpful. Then, the ordering process was extremely simple. The items arrived right on time and in perfect condition. We set up a work station in the garage and fixed everything in about half and hour. It was such a relief to have a working washer again. The videos on the website we're very reassuring. And when they said, "This is a simple repair..." It was nice that it was actually true. In the end, we spent like $350 and like half an hour to repair a very nice washer when the warranty didn't come through. It is very satisfying to repair the washer, rather than just buy a new one and throw the old one away. Christopher M Mahwah , NJ December 23, 2017 Door was cracking and coming away from washing machine bracket fell into machine! Bought hinge, inner door frame and outer door frame just in case. Glad I did as needed all of them. Door came off and new parts assembled easily. BUT! As I was taking door hinge off at start I heard a “clunk” as the bracket that hinge screws into fell into the machine. I fished it out of bottom of machine, then took top of machine off to put bracket back in. Was super hard to reach into machine and could not figure up how to get hinge/door screwed in at this angle and it made no sense. Was reading online about trying to hold bracket into place with needle nose pliers which made no sense either. Then I figured it out; the bracket has a slot which slides over a metal part inside of the machine to hold the bracket flush to the machine so it can accept the screws. Common sense. It worked. Super glad I kept trying as almost called repairman at this stage...winning! Deedee B Nashville , TN January 16, 2017 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer ATF6000FS1 Door was 'dropped down' less than 1/4 inch had to lift to close it wasn't the hinge So I thought it was the hinge, so I bought a hinge. Turns out there are little tiny plastic tabs (that the hinge repair video refers to) that were broken off. If I had taken the door off before ordering the part I probably would have figured this out but I didn't want to take the washer 'out of service' while waiting for the part and time to fix it. I will now order an Outer Door Panel. Things I learned: for a better diagnosis, maybe take it all apart before buying the part AND loosen the screws, especially on the hinge with a screwdriver not a screw-gun. Our middle screw was in really really tight and it stripped. Then had to learn how to remove stripped screws. :) It was an easy process (except for the screw) and now needing to reorder the correct part Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Don W Seal Rock , OR September 19, 2023 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer FAFW3511KW0 Washer had a saggy door. Hinge broken. I simply checked the model number with your information and the part was readily available. Read a few of the comments about taking the screws of the hinge off the washer cabinet and then took the interior door screws loose to remove the hinge. The only trick was separating the inner and outer door segments. The hinge itself was quite easy to install and with the aid of the hook on the back of the hinge, the door could be reattached to the cabinet and back in working order in a matter of 10-15 minutes. A good clean of the door frame and door itself completed the task. I did use a bar stool w/ towel to help prop the door before removal as I wanted to have a bit of safety in case there was a hang up of some kind. With the hook on the back of the hinge, there was really no need....by the way, the washer turns 13 years old in December. Only repair in that time. Read More...
