Gary B Lawton , OK April 07, 2015 Appliance: Model J BP78W Y3WW The broiler on our ge range quit working eventually going to an always on mode no error codes Replaced electronic control board much to my wife's dismay - she wanted a new range. It was a compatible board but not a perfect drop-in based on some wiring differences. The new board came with a brief schematic that may it extremely easy to connect it correctly. And it even came in the mail in less than 72 hours using the lowest shipping rate. Morris C Columbia , MD February 12, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range JBP66BY1AD Control board more specifically badly pitted/worn/burned contacts of an onboard relay that supplies power to the baking element this prevented current from flowing to the baking element This is a GE range, acquired in 1997. First noted that it was taking way too long for the oven to pre-heat to the set temperature. In troubleshooting, noted no current was flowing through the baking element of the range. Checked baking element's continuity with an ohmmeter and found it to be intact. Next checked voltages from the control board's contacts that are supposed to feed power to both the baking and broiling elements. Noted 240v available at the broiling element contact but none at the broiling element contact. Diagnosed control board. Ordered replacement from ApplianceParts Pros.com. Replaced the control board with a new one acquired from AppliancePartsPros.com. Problem solved. Michael G Bennet , NE December 20, 2018 Bottom oven burner stopped working in GE electric stove. The stove is now about 20 years old. Decided to see if the part was available, and it was. It was the electronic control board. It was simple to install. Just take your time. Watch a Youtube video. They are great. Part came right away. As a bonus, the top oven burner had stopped working properly (stayed on all the time) just after a few years after we'd bought the stove, but it was seldom used, so I'd just removed the wire and taped it off when that had happened. Now, with the new control unit part, I undid the tape and hooked it back up, and both of the oven burners work. The top burners on the stove work fine. Stephen G Pocono Lake , PA December 20, 2021 Appliance: Model GE ELECTRIC RANGE The temperature regulator was not working properly. A friend diagnosed the problem for me. We ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros.com. When it came in it was a matter of taking the back off the stove, pulling four screws on the old module, moving the four wires from one module to the other, put it back together and we were done. Just in time for my wife's holiday baking to begin. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers
