How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7018722 / WR23X37285 Light Switch

Look at videoand it took less than 10 mins, To fix. 

Replaced switch. After installing new switch (which was redesigned -an improvement) the door would not close completely. Determined the lower door hinge fastening bolt had worked loose enough to allow door to drop and misalign the pad on the door that contacts the switch. This is what caused the switch to break. Adjusted the door and all was good.. 

Ordered the correct part on this site. After viewing video, I knew I could easily do it myself. Quick & easy! Needle-nose pliers help, but don't need them. Couldn't be more pleased. 

I could wiggle the switch actuator and the light would flash off and on intermittently so I knew it was the switch. Found Appliance Pros online and used their cross reference guide to get the correct part # that was compatible with my 20+ year old refrigerator. The part shipped that day and arrived 2 days later and there were no shipping charge. I watched the video online regarding the replacement and it was pretty much dead on except my wires and plug remained up inside the mounting hole and needed to be fished out with the help of a pair of needle nosed pliers. The new part plugged right in, mounted in the existing hole and worked like a champ. Total time was about 15 minutes due to minor problems getting access to the plug. Overall it went very well. 

Ordered all the necessary parts to fix all the problems to hopefully make it last another 10 years or so 

Easy fix, just swapped out the old light sensor for the new one and presto, let there be light. 

New bulb didn't fix it, so the next step was to look at the switch. After watching Appliance Pros video, I ordered a new switch. The video was right on the money, and replacing the switch was a 5 minute process. Yahoo....the light works again! Thanks for your help....Tim Jenkins 

Found the switch on your sight after watching video about it on youtube that said to go to your site to purchase. The switch came in just a few days and was vey easy to fix. Worked like a charm. 

I popped out old light switch and put in new one. And then I popped in end piece to door.
