Millard V Mckenzie , TN January 14, 2020 Appliance: Model GIWN2800D1WS GENERAL ELECTRIC Washer was not draining after a coup[le of loads Checked to verify the pump was getting 120vac. When time advanced to drain, the 120 vac was present and remained so until timer advanced past the drain cycle. Also noticed the pump was abnormally hot to the touch. Cooled the pump down with ice and attempted to drain again. Washer drained after the pump was cooled. Replaced the pump and solved the problem. 10 minute job to replace. Troy R Avenel , NJ January 13, 2021 Appliance: Model GE WASHER GTWN4250D1WS Washer would not completely drain. Purchased a pump part # AP5632594 (WH23X10043) The hardest part was unscrewing the screws holding the pump in place.. Once it came off the replacement was easy. Took me 45 minutes to take off and put the new one on. It really didn't take this long but I kept looking at it and saying this can't be that easy, something has to be wrong. There was nothing wrong it was just my paranoia because I am not great at fixing things. But I'm getting real good at it. With the help of the videos on here and on youtube everything is starting to become easy. I estimate I saved at least $300 dollars buying the part and completing it myself. Edmund M Denver , CO February 22, 2020 Appliance: Model GTWN2800DWW The washer would not drain, it is about 4 years old I called in a repair technician who diagnosed that foreign materials had made its way into the pump and had destroyed it. We had to pay for the service call and the additional cost for the repair was more than 50% of the cost of a new washer. Buying a new washer seemed the best choice but that meant dumping a whole lot of scrap into a land fill. Washer models seem to update daily but the chat line provided the right part number and the part was not that expensive. The repair was quite easy. The irony is that after the replacement I took out a bobby pin and some jean material from the pump. The impeller was not damaged and the pump ran without a problem. I now probably have a perfectly good spare. Why is there not a strainer on the pump? I know techs have to make a living but it seems like there is a better way.
