How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3669691 / WH02X10093 Compression Ring

I replaced the Timer knob components. Removing the cover that contains the Timer was simpler than I anticipated. Just remove the screws on the top of the back of the machine. Hold the cover and lift up and push to the left (facing the front of the washer). Removed the Timer Knob Clip with small needle-nose pliers. Grasped the Timer and turned counterclockwise to remove and unplugged the wiring clip. The timer is seated to the cover and held securely in place with one screw. I seated the new Timer into the inside of the cover. This step took a minute to figure out but if you look at the inside of the cover, and then the back of the Timer, it is easy to see how it fits. Replaced the single screw that holds the Timer in place. Replace the wiring (one clip with many wires that simply snaps into place). Reseated the cover and replaced the screws. I've never done this task before and I figured it out by looking at it. Much simpler than I thought. The difficulties? 1. Removing the cover. It doesn't just lift up. You must lift up and slide it over. 2. Removing the Timer mechanism. Once the screw is removed, the Timer must be twisted to be removed. Once you take it off, you will know how to put the new one back on. 

Replaced the timer, and knob 

Called a local repair man who did not return the call. Called another one who turned out to have a you pull it salvage yard for washing machines. Got on the internet and found AppliancePartsPros.com. Entered the model number which put me onto the assembly drawings. Picked out the knob parts. watched the videos for instructions on how to remove the old parts and assemble the new ones. Ordered the parts. When they arrived most of the assembly work shown had already been done. Took me about two minutes to replace the old parts and test them. Perfection. 

Replacing the timer dial, I order a compression ring too,but you don't needed because the timer dial bring one,but the dial work perfect and the problem was fix, upstanding service by your company I already recommended to two of my friends. 

Replaced the timer, control knob, & dial assy. 

After ordering the parts to fix it, I watched the video to replace the knob and dial. It literally took 30 seconds to repair my washing machine!

I looked at the schematic which was provided on their website ordered the parts which I was told by the local repair shop that they couldn't get
