How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2634795 / WB30X354 Surface Element, 8"

I removed all four of the elements and checked each for continuity and total resistance. One was open circuited and another had excessively high resistance. I ordered a 6 inch and an 8 inch elements from Appliance Parts Pros, and when they arrived two days early, I inventoried the parts. Everything was correct, and I installed the new elements in a half hour. That evening, my lovely bride tested both elements cooking dinner, and I was treated to roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, string beans, and stewed squash. Proves once again that there is value in both D-I-Y and selecting Appliance Parts Pros. 

Replaced heating element and also all drip pans. Drip pans were original 62 years old, heating element had been replaced once in the past. 

I replaced the dirty and rusty drip pans with new drip pans. 

Replaced all four burners and drip pans. Upgraded burners to the integrated ring on chassis type rather than the three point drop-in with separate ring. Drip pans were rusty-crusty so they went. These are better parts than were in the stove. 1/4" nut driver for all screws. Slip joint pliers to hold the connector ends while tightening so they don't bend. Small flat head screwdriver to pry off the spring clips on the ceramic insulation blocks and to pry loose the clips (that the burner mounting screw taps into) in the burner holes to replace them. Easy peasy but tedious work. Two 6" and Two 8". Now as good as a new stovetop for $300.00. 

I replaced all four burners with new GE Drip pans, burners and rings so everything would be new. 

We have a very old GE range that is custom built in to a solid, one piece stainless steel counter/sink. When the burner gave out we were looking to have to cut out a piece of the counter to replace it with a drop in stove, but we found the part on your site and it worked perfectly. Really, just took less than 5 minutes to replace the old parts, and it worked like a charm. Thank you so very much! 

First we switched the electrical breaker off in our power paneI then we removed wires from the old element one at a time, removing one wire then attaching the one wire to the new element in the same connecting location on the new element, and this was done by slightly positioning the new element over the old element. The only actual glitch was just that to attach the new element to the stove located in the rear of the element I had to use a long 12" nut/screw driver which I had. Since our vintage 1930's stove is so old, I did handle and check wires carefully. Once all elements were replaced we turned the breaker on and slowly lit each element slowly, heating from warm to high. All went well, all elements work well as we had hoped for, many years. 

I changed out the 6" burner.Perfect fit! 

I used Aircraft stripper to remove the paint on the stove top and oven. This stuff works great!! So then we ordered parts thru this company AppliancePartsPros.com. We got new chrome drip pans, ours were black and rusty. Then ordered 4 new heating elements. I don't think they have been replaced ever. So now our stove looks gorgeous!!!
