How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5780508 / WE4M533 Dryer Timer Control Assembly

Replaced timer motor. 

I ordered the part needed. We took a picture of the old part still on the dryer so we would have a frame of reference on how it looked "just in case". It took a total of 5 minutes to put the new timer on! My dryer works :) 

Purchased a new timer from appliance pro when other had to back order it, even GE. 

Replaced it with a new one 

Un-plugged Dryer from wall receptacle. Pulled dryer from wall and removed top back plate with Phillip screwdriver. Held up new timer next to existing timer and switched wiring to new timer unit. Removed old timer unit by releasing tension stop on old unit, then rotating timer to the left. Placed new timer up to post and turned new timer to the right and it snapped in place. Replaced top back plate then plugged Dryer cord back in to wall receptacle. From front of Dryer placed metal clip in new knob and placed knob onto D-shaped shaft on timer. Did use needle nose pliers to swap out wires on timer. 

Order the timer from Appliance Parts Pros and had it repaired in fifteen minutes. The apart was a direct replacement. Thanks for the speedy delivery and great price. 

Replaced switch with a new one. 

Ordered new switch, came the next day. Ten minuets later it was all fixed. Easy thing to do. Thanks, Dave 

Used your website to cross reference model number to timer part. Ordered it and it arrived in two days. Took about 20 minutes to remove old and install new. Very simple fix just carefully switched wires one at a time from old to new. Hardest part actually was removing the knob from the front which required a screwdriver wrapped in a cloth not to scratch dryer as I put pressure to remove. Works fine now excellent follow up from APP. Thanks 

Watched you tube video on how to change it. Followed there instructions. Repair done in 5 minutes.
