How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5780508 / WE4M533 Dryer Timer Control Assembly

I ran a search for my model number online and found the part I needed at appliancepartpros.com. Ordering was easy and the part was at my door in less than 2 days. Simple fix.....unplugged dryer, removed 6 screws, disconnected a couple of wires to remove old timer and then connected the new one. Took all of 15 min and I was a hero for a while 5 min. Lol 

This was the first time that I needed to fix our dryer. The timer dial was busted and we had to use pliers to turn the dial. At AppliancePartsPros.com I was able to find the pats to the GE dryer we have as well as find videos on how to swap out parts. The tutorial videos surprised me, I didn't realize how easy it was to do. The project really only took about 10-15 minutes. I was also surprised how quickly we got the parts. Not surprised that the prices were way cheaper than GE's, but hey it's nice to save. A great service that I would use again, hope I don't have to, but nice to know the support is out there. 

I purchased replacement parts form Appliance Parts Pros. My husband installed the parts and the timer and start switch work perfectly! 

Simply un-plugged the wires , and plugged in the new parts ( behind the control panel ) . 

Ordered new part. Unplugged dryer from the outlet. Removed small metal cover on upper back of dryer. Matched old and new part to determine if I had the right part. It matched. Removed the knob on front panel. Removed the old part by lifting a small tab on one side of the part with a screw drive.. Twisted to remove. Left wires hooked up. Put new part in place. Changed wires one at a time to be sure they went on the correct position on the new part. Replaced back cover. Replaced knob on front. It worked. Yeah !!! 

It took my friend less than 5 minutes to install the new part. Only needed a screw driver. So easy! 

I ordered a timer for my clothes dryer on a Sunday evening and received it on Tuesday afternoon It took longer to pull the dryer from the wall and clean back there than the actual repair time. I'm a very happy customer. 

Ordered timer and knob assembly installed in 5 minutes and dryer working great! Parts were correct, lowest price available and installation video was spot on. Thanks! Will definitely use this company again for all my appliance needs.
