How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5679644 / EAU59551204 Ice Dispenser Door Motor

Installed a new motor from AppliancePartsPros.com. It was super easy with the video provided by AppliancePartsPros.com I had a professional look at the issue and they said parts were hard to get and I might have to replace the whole door. Huh?! I did my own research and found this site with video that confirmed the issue and the part that might solve the problem. I followed the video and it was really easy. I felt like a pro! I used a Phillips Screwdriver and a small putty knife to pry the plastic facia off. I then took a marker and marked the wire terminals so I didn’t have to think when I reconnected. I also took pics before disassembling anything. I didn’t need to rely on them but it was insurance. 

I needed to replace the actuator or the ice dispenser door. The LG manufacturer did not make it easy to access the ice door actuator motor. I had read quite a bit online about the difficulty of removing the front panel to access and replace the part. I finally found a YouTube link which was extremely helpful. I was able to remove the panel and replace the part in about 20-30 min. The new actuator part was in the 'open' position so prior to mounting it, I had to plug it and push the ice button to get it to move to the 'closed' position for mounting. I ordered the part from your website and watched the video and it was a simple fix. 

Perfect, I watched a YouTube video and replace the dispensing door motor. Phillips head screwdriver and a putty knife to remove the control panel. Watch the video it shows you white where to place putty knife. 

Found a suggested repair video on youtube. opened the front panel and got motor data. Ordered a motor from you. Installed and the problem was fixed. The most difficult part of the job was to remove the front panel. 

Replaced ice door motor with a part from AppliancePartsPros. A relatively inexpensive part would have cost hundreds of dollars had I had a repairman come to the house. I COULD NOT HAVE MADE THIS REPAIR WITHOUT THE VIDEO PROVIDED BY AppliancePartsPros. The repair was made from the front of the refrigerator by removing and disconnecting the control panel, the panel mounting bracket, and the motor itself. The video explained how to do everything with just a putty knife and a Phillips screwdriver. I would not have known even where to start. The video emphasized critical steps and where to use caution. 

Unplugged refrigerator, removed front panel, disconnected old motor and replaced with new. Watched a video on Appliance Parts Pros to aid in replacement. 

I figured out that the ice door wasn't opening, and so I bought a new ice dispenser door motor. I followed the instructions in the video to replace it, and now it's all fixed. 

I installed a revised ice dispenser motor part that fixed the problem.
