Clark W Austin , TX June 09, 2015 My samsung dryer with steam feature would not stop running unless it was unplugged from the electrical outlet even with the power off on the panel the unit would run A local service repair service charged me $54 to come and tell me it was the control board. He quoted the replacement panel was $399 but he would credit me the $54 service charge if I ordered it with a 10 day delivery. I decided against the repair and bought a $500 dryer from Lowes. I decided to look on line to see if the control board was really $399. I found that Appliance Parts Pros sold the board for $85. I ordered the board and it actually arrived the next day even though they quoted a 3 day delivery. I checked You Tube for installation help which was available. The repair took me less than 10 minutes and the unit is running normally again. Returned the Lowes dryer and life is good again. I intend to Yelp the local service repair service and share my story. Shame on them for asking for $399 for a repair I was able to do for $85 once the problem was determined. Joseph R West Des Moines , IA May 12, 2017 Samsung dryer ran constantly unless unplugged or door opened (no heat just spinning drum and air) Replaced main control board. It took about 20 minutes, including pulling the dryer out and squeezing my fat butt behind it to unscrew the back. It is frustrating that it is a known issue and yet so easy to repair that would cost a ton if a repair man did it. Craig Y Fairfax , VA October 13, 2018 Appliance: Model DV5451AGW/XAA 03 Dryer was running and would not shut off except if you unplugged it or opened the door no heat I Google searched the problem and saw several videos advising that the problem was the PCB board and showing exactly how to replace it. Because of the video I knew how to access the PCB board and replace it and felt very comfortable that I could do the repair. Because of the videos I was able to temporarily get the dryer back working. I found and ordered the part from AppliancePartsPro.com and it came very quickly. The repair took approximately 10 minutes and that was me taking a lot of time to make sure I was taking pictures, carefully disconnecting the wires etc. The only tool I needed was a phillips screwdriver. I am REALLY tired of calling an appliance repair guy, having he or she diagnose the problem, have to order the part, having to come back and $350.00 and 3 weeks later hopefully having a working appliance. For what it is worth I would NEVER buy a Samsung washer or dryer (again), We bought a washer and dryer about 5 years ago and we finally gave up on trying to fix the washer (couldn't get parts) and NO dryer should fail where it keeps running! Peter K Blue Springs , MO June 18, 2017 My samsung dryer would continue to turn the drum even if the dryer was turned off or the cycle was done Replacing this board fixed the issue. The problem was actually a sticking relay on the board. Apparently this is a common failure. Aaron S Apex , NC October 08, 2018 My Samsung dryer would not stop running unless the door was open or it was unplugged. The drum was making a terrible noise. I replaced the PCB to fix the issue with the unit running with no power. Basically, all it took was undoing 2 screws to remove the control panel and another screw to remove the faulty PCB. To fix the banging noise I had to disassemble the entire dryer and found one of the motor clamps had come loose and was catching on the drum. I cleaned out some lint that had gotten in to the unit and then replaced the original motor clamp before reassembling the dryer. It works like new now. Read More...
