Clark W Austin , TX June 09, 2015 My samsung dryer with steam feature would not stop running unless it was unplugged from the electrical outlet even with the power off on the panel the unit would run A local service repair service charged me $54 to come and tell me it was the control board. He quoted the replacement panel was $399 but he would credit me the $54 service charge if I ordered it with a 10 day delivery. I decided against the repair and bought a $500 dryer from Lowes. I decided to look on line to see if the control board was really $399. I found that Appliance Parts Pros sold the board for $85. I ordered the board and it actually arrived the next day even though they quoted a 3 day delivery. I checked You Tube for installation help which was available. The repair took me less than 10 minutes and the unit is running normally again. Returned the Lowes dryer and life is good again. I intend to Yelp the local service repair service and share my story. Shame on them for asking for $399 for a repair I was able to do for $85 once the problem was determined. 12 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
