Frank G Anaheim , CA September 18, 2017 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RS267LASH/XAA-0000 My Samsung refrigerator had a flashing temperature display and the refrigerator wasn't cooling. Cleaned air vents under refrigerator, vacuumed out evaporators and blew out dust from the compressor compartment, let defrost for most of the day. Plugged it back in and it worked, for about a week, then did the same thing. Ordered and replaced both the defrost sensor and the temperature sensor for the refrigerator side. The entire bottom half of the evaporator was a block of ice. I used a heat gun to melt all of the ice, and then re-assembled refrigerator. Now I'm waiting to see if that fixed the problem. Bob R Fair Oaks Ranch , TX March 25, 2017 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG RS267LABP/XAA Refrigerator section only cooling to 50 degrees freezer section ok First thought it was the fan because it was making a noise so replaced it. Removing the inside covers showed coils all frozen so decided the "defrost sensor" must be bad. Since AppliancePartsPro has no problem with returns, I also ordered the main board.....that would be the only other possibility. Turns out the "defrost sensor" was the problem. During the first 24 hours when things were getting back in sync, we had some water come out on the floor during the first defrost cycle, so I recommend placing a towel in the lower section of the refrigerator for the first 24 hours. The original fan noise was apparently due to the ice build up & not a bad fan. I'm keeping the fan rather than putting the original back. Still saved at least $250, & good support from AppliancePartssPros.. Their coil cleaning brush works really well too. Bob F Batavia , IL June 06, 2014 Appliance: Samsung Side By Side Refrigerator RS2556WW Refrigerator freezer section worked just fine but the refrigerator section had insufficient cooling Determined it wasn't defrosting properly. Removed back of fridge and opened electronic control module. Checked defrost fuse and circuit continuity. Monitored temperature sensor voltages during operation. Determined the defrost temp sensor was reading 140F when it should have been 10F. Removed all food and shelves. Uncovered refrigerator cooling coils. Replaced the defrost temperature sensor. It's been working fine ever since. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Lyn A Oak Ridge , TN August 30, 2018 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RS267TDWP/XAA-0000 Refrigerator stopped cooling / freezer still worked. Our refrigerator stopped cooling properly and kept popping an E22 code which would reset but then the problem persisted. We called a repair shop and they advised we unplug it for a few minutes and plug it back in to see if it would help. It seemed to right it for 24 hours then the error code popped up again. When I called them back they told me it sounded like the sensor or the compressor overloading and wanted "about $700 to fix it. We'd be better off buying a new refrigerator." For that kind of money, I started looking for parts online and found AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the parts recommended for our model. What did I have to lose? Either I could fix it or I couldn't. So we watched the videos, the model shown wasn't exactly like ours but being oblivious and having NO experience working on appliances I figured I could do it anyway. We popped off all the parts we needed too, plugged in the new sensor in the inside and started on the compressor overload protector and ran into a snag. Our model had a part not shown and we couldn't figure out how to get it off to get to the sensor. We called AppliancePartsPros and they called us right back. Within minutes APP's wonderful tech Lowinda (Wendee D.) had our specs pulled up and she was able to give us the information to finish the job quickly. Our refrigerator works beautifully again! And we saved over $675 doing it ourselves with Appliance Pro's and Wendee's help! Paige B Florissant , CO October 15, 2017 Appliance: Model RS25H5111BC/AA-0001 Fridge was warm freezer was cold fridge said it was 34 deg f but was around 60 deg f Followed what E.K. in Yacolt, WA did and replaced the fridge temp sensor and the fan motor and it works perfectly. Tried only changing out the temp sensor but this only corrected the incorrect temp read-out, didn't allow the fridge to cool. Changing out the fan motor corrected the cooling problem. The actual repair only took ~30 minutes. It took another hour to figure out where all the hidden screws were that held the back section together. Unlike the video that shows the temp sensor in the bottom section, it's actually located in very top in the Samsung RS25H5111BC/AA-0001. The last hidden screw at the top is behind the light strip (remove the light cover and carefully pop out the light strip). Many thanks to all the resources here! This is the second appliance I've repaired myself, this time saving ~$500 over having a repair guy do it.
