How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005965 / WP2180226 Refrigerator Dispenser Control Bracket

Replaced bracket holding micro switch. 

Looked up the part I needed and it was a quick and easy fix. 

Ordered bracket and had it fixed in less than 10 minutes 

After watching a few videos, I checked out the dispenser on fridge 1. Our bracket had a broken pin that kept the dispenser switch in place, once the part arrived it was a very quick replacement and everything is working fine. On fridge 2, the drain for the defrost cycle was frozen over, a common problem apparently for this refrigerator type. We had to defrost the refrigerator and replaced the part as recommended and everything is working fine! 

The pins on the bracket that hold the water dispenser and ice dispenser switches were broken off. Replaced the bracket. The dispenser lever retainer was broken which made the actuator lever loose. Replaced the dispenser lever retainer. I reused the old dispenser arm strain relief and did not need the new part. Very easy to do. 

Took the panel out, and ordered a new one. Once I got the part, I reinstalled it, and now I have ice, (water and frig door light) all working! With appliancepartspros.com it was easy-peasy! Thanks! 

I have acquired other parts from your company before, I bought the rebuild kit and it was easy to install,I also watched the u tube video on how to install the kit 

I actually replaced the auger motor and the bracket. The micro motor was working but the bracket had broken, which caused it not to connect properly resulting in no ice being dispensed. The parts were both super easy to replace. I think each part took me about 15-20 minutes. LOVED the videos, they were super easy to follow. Couldn't have done it without them. 

Replaced plastic Bracket under ice/water control face plate. Very easy repair. Took about 5 minutes. Recommend watching video on part description page of website. 

I googled the problem related to my model refrigerator. The one search came back with a number of solutions ranked by % of time solved the problem. I bought the part based on the highest % and also was the lowest cost solution. I installed the base plate that holds both the water dispenser and ice cube actuators. I noticed the old base plate (behind the face plate of refrigerator with button selector) had broken parts holding the water dispenser. I felt good to see that because had doubts this was the solution. Bottom line - My water dispenser is working now. Only 4 screws.
