How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011209 / WP74010750 Electric Range Oven Bake Element

This is a very easy fix, in fact it only takes about 5-8 minutes. Remove the wire racks from the oven, then remove the screws on either side of the element holding it to the back of the oven. Pull out the element far enough to access the wire connectors attached to the element. detach the wires, pull the old element out, place the new one in, attach wires, push back into the back of the oven until the brackets meet the back. Install the screws, replace the racks, pre-heat your oven and cook your pizza :)

Simply by removing the old and connecting the new coil to the connectors. That simple.

With the part I ordered from you. 

Pull stove out. Unplug stove. Remove oven door (open door slightly and pull up). Undo two screws and pull old element forward. I used a couple of vise grip plyers to keep the wires from feeding back into the oven (close the jaws of the plyers so they are open and tighten to put pressure on wires - DO NOT DAMAGE THE INSULATION ON THE WIRES). Pulled the wires off of the old element. Installation is the reverse of removal. Turned it on and cooked a pizza. Pizza was good...oven fixed. 

I ordered the new part with standard shipping and got it the next day! I was very pleased with the speed of delivery. My teenage son and I watched a you tube video on how to change it out and it went pretty smoothly. Took us about half an hour because the old one was kind of stuck in there and it took us a little longer to get it loose. I'm proud of us for doing it ourselves and the oven works fine!
