How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011209 / WP74010750 Electric Range Oven Bake Element

Replaced with new element - works fine now 

Ordered my bake element over the phone. process was quick and easy and very friendly staff. price was even cheaper then my local hardware centers who I could have ordered from. I received my part 1 and a half weeks later thru FedEx with standard shipping from KY to my home state of WA. The repair was easy. unplugged my oven, two Phillips screws held my bake oven in. I was a bit worried that the new element was made by whirlpool considering my oven is a Maytag appliance. However the part was identical with my old element. plugged in my + and - terminals, replaced the Phillips screws, the whole process took maybe 10 min from unboxing to testing out my oven. Works great now, and saved me lots of money considering I was just going to buy a new oven/stovetop all together. Thank you so so much APP. I will order again with you in the future. 

I unscrewed and unplugged the old heating element the plugged in an screwed in the new heating element. 

Removed the two screws holding the element in the back of the over and carefully pulled the connectors out through the back wall. The right side one came out easily while the left one was much harder with more resistance pulling the wire out through the hole. Once I unhooked the wire from the left side, the wire immediately sucked right back out the hole and I may have said a bad word! 8>) The right one came off and stayed right there with plenty of wire still hanging out. I then pulled the oven out of the counter and tipped it forward to access the back, removed the two screws holding the back on and found the wire hanging out back there. The wires were all zipped tied together on the right side of the stove and the left burned wire could barely reach the other side to go through the hole. It simply was too short to reach the other side. I removed the zip tie and cut the electrical tape holding all the wires together and that gave it enough length to go through the hole and stay nicely. I attached a new zip tie to the rest of the wires and tape the left wire to the back of the stove to further help hold it there. Put the back on the stove, tipped the stove back up, slide it back into place and plugged in both ends of the element, slipped them back through the holes and re screwed them to the back of the stove. Done in about 20 minutes and it solved the problem of the oven not heating. The part you supplied fit perfectly and works just fine, thanks! Steve 

REPLACED WITH YOUR PART IN LESS THAN 5 FIVE MINUTES. WORKS LIKE A NEW STOVE. 

Applieance Parts Pros sent me a replacement right before Christmas. Just in time! Great price and easy to install. Sears was going to charge me twice as much and they didn't have it in stock so I would have had to wait until after Christmas. 

Repair is a 5 minute job, however this time (4th element in 10 years) the old element burned out with a huge arc welding flash for 30 seconds filling the house with smoke, leaving a residue and welding splatter in the oven and frying the connection wire which had to be replaced which involved removing the convection fan. Why do they only last 3 years? We do use self clean a couple times a year. How long will this one last? 

Ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros after watching the video on how to repair the baking element in the oven. Took $40 and 15 minutes to fix the problem. 

Turned off breaker, unscrewed 2 screws plugged in new element replaced 2 screws, turned breaker back on. Easy peasy! 

Replaced oven element.
