How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011209 / WP74010750 Electric Range Oven Bake Element

POWER OFF! Remove old part, had to remove rear panel to access lead for bake element. Replaced part. 

Replaced it. The complication was that as I gently pulled the element out of the back of the stove one of the wires did not come with it. So I had to pull out the range unit to take off the back. The 2nd complication was that it was a Jenn Air and the fan vents through the floor, so in order to do that I had to disconnect the ductwork under the range. It was probably a good thing that I had to pull it out as it gave me a chance to do a major clean-up back there. 

Ordered a new one, removed the old one, put the new one in its place.

Scanned the internet and happened upon your site. Watched your video on changing it. Went to take it out before ordering to see if I needed to order the "Terminal Kit". Takig one wire off worked perfectly, the second wire had to tug to pull into the oven and it popped off so naturally had to pull oven out so could get at the back. The terminals looked good so ordered the bake element from you, in a day and a half the package was delivered. Pulled the oven out away from the wall. Went easy only two screws. No matter what I would have done, the wire was so short coming from the terminal it couldn't have made it to the inside the oven Oven working perfectly. Thanks

Replaced the element. 

Bottom heat element in oven replaced. The job was easy with AppliancePartsPros online info, instructions and fast delivery of parts. Website is very user friendly, and you can't the price. 

Flipped the circuit breaker off, unscrewed the old one and disconnected the wire. I clipped a clothes pin to the wire so it would not get pulled into the back wall. On the other side the wire stayed in the back wall when I pulled the element out. I had to pull out the oven and climb behind it to fish the wire through. It turns out that when the oven was originally put together the wire was caught under a nearby cover plate on the oven back. Once freed, I was able to stick the wire back through the insulation. After that it was easy to connect the wires and screw the element in place. If not for the stuck wire, I would have finished in 5 minutes by myself. I needed a helper to catch the wire as it was fished from the back. All considered, it was a very easy fix.
