How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4008646 / 12001908 Washer Lid Switch Kit

I came to this website to identify and replace the lid switch. Received replacement in less than 2 days and repair took about 5 minutes.

After lifting the lid to add something to the wash, it stopped working when I put the lid down. The lid switch was one possibility so I ordered a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I used a wrench and a screwdriver, and it only cost me $44 to fix versus buying a new one. Thanks

Purchased the replacement part from AppliancePartsPros. After the part was received we reviewed the online repair video from their website and made the repair ourselves. It was easy, just a few tools were needed and it took about 10 minutes in all to complete the repair. This saved us the cost of a home visit from an appliance repairman and waiting half a day for the repairman to arrive.
