How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013694 / WP9704230 Blender Drive Coupler

I ordered the Coupler and another Dome and Blade assembly. When the parts were delivered, which happened very fast, as promised, my wife performed the repair. She was happy! 

The new parts worked like a champ. The dome and blade assembly in an easy fix. I ordered the coupler to have a spare when the old one strips out. Good company to do business with. 

Was going to throw out my 11 year old high quality blender because the rubber gear fell to pieces. Saw on Youtube that it was an easy fix. Found the part at a great price on appliancepartspros.com and repaired it in seconds. 

Per instructions provided, pried old impeller off with screwdriver, cleaned shaft threads, and screwed on new impeller (left hand threads) 

I determined that from external temperature measuring devices, the temperature was rising in both compartments.It was unable to hold normal temps 0deg/32deg. Also for a few years on and off the evaporator fan would make noises. After defrosting the freezer compartment and replacing the temp sensor, the noise would disappear, but it took a beating. This time I was not able to engage the evaporator fan, or at least I could not hear it turning on or off. I surmised that after 18 years the evaporator fan motor had died. I ordered a replacement motor and replaced it. Tested the unit for 12 hours empty and saw the temperature stabilize. When I started the disassembly I did not realize getting to the motor would require the removal of everything except the cooling coils.Took a little longer than planned. 

Replaced the parts 

Ordered new coupler instruction was perfect 10 minute repair 

New part ordered along with concise instruction the repair worked perfectly!! 

Ordered two bits that are "outdated" because the company has redesigned the blender and I don't want to buy new if I don't have to. 

Sharp whack to coupler (reverse thread) with screwdriver and hammer removed coupler easily and new coupler screwed on.
