J Mcleod July 02, 2020 for Model Number K8B5WH We ordered and received this replacement coupler, and followed the video directions to replace it. The blender now works but it doesn't sit down on to the coupler as snug as it use to. Therefore, it is a bit wobbly and needs to be held in place when blending. Is this normal, or is there anything we can do to correct this?
1 Answer J Mcleod, It appears that you may have gotten the wrong drive coupler for your mixer. The drive coupler for your unit will be part number 9703274 but has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available. Read More...
Leah June 17, 2020 for Model Number KSB5BU4 I ordered a coupler that says it fits model KSB5BU4 but the base of KSB5BU4 is slightly concave but the coupler that is supposed to fit is flat and doesn't fit? I can't reconcile why the part that is supposed to fit my model as specified is the wrong shape to fit in the space?
1 Answer Leah, This is a substituted part and may look different than the original. This should work for the model based on the manufacturer parts list. Read More...

William June 29, 2019 The video states the blender has a left handed thread, this one does not, it freely spins in both directions. #ksb5nk4. Am I missing something to replace the drive coupler ? Thanks
1 Answer Hello William, It sounds like the Drive Coupler threads are stripped. In that case, follow the repair video on prying the coupler off with a screwdriver. Read More...
Nancy March 27, 2018 for Model Number KSB5WH4 Thank you for your response to my question. The metal portion of the rubber coupling remains on the base of blender. Is it possible to remove this metal base. The videos I watched show removal with the rubber coupling in place. Thank you!
1 Answer Nancy, To get this piece off you will need to remove the screws from the bottom and lower the motor out of the Casing in order to get the rest of the coupler off. Read More...
Nancy March 27, 2018 for Model Number KSB5WH4 Rubber coupling completely crumbled while using the blender. The metal piece holding coupling is still in place. Did this occur because it is old? Can this be repaired? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Nancy, This part WP9704230 probably failed because of age and can be replaced. Since it has left handed threads, it will need to be turned clockwise to remove and counter-clockwise to install. You should be able to insert a small open-end very thin 9/32" or 7 mm wrench between the coupler and power base onto the motor shaft to hold the motor from turning during its' clockwise removal.
