How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4264725 / W10133606 Pad, 1-Pack

The replacement pad was easy to install (<1 min.) and no more automatic discharge of water. 

I replaced the pads on my Kitchenaid side-by-side. I was able to order ones that looked exactly like the old ones. It was even easier than what I had seen in a YouTube video. 

Replaced ice dispenser pad and ice motor using a customers report on the website. Replacing the pad was easy just remove the drip tray and the two screws behind it then lift off the panel. I unplugged if so I could move it to a work area. Removed the old pad by breaking the retaining tabs and snapped in the new one and reconnect the wiring. The ice motor replacement was more difficult but the excellent report on the site helped a lot. 

Removed water drip tray to unscrew dispenser housing with Phillips screwdriver. Disconnected housing from refrigerator by unplugging the one wire connection and unplugged the ice and water dispenser pads. Replaced pads with new ones and plugged connections back in. Replaced housing. Works better than it did when we bought the refrigerator!

Replaced the pads. Took five minutes. After years of leaning heavily into the pads to get them to work (and only if you found the right spot to push) we now get water and ice with just the slightest touch. The dreaded task of filling the water pitcher is now a pleasure (and the kids fight over it). 

Fix was quick and easy !! Part was at house in 2 days ! 

Replaced pads. Super easy! Only a screwdriver required. I would have done this a couple of years ago if I had known how easy it would be. 

Replaced it and the ice cube switch/pad. Parts were more pricey than I imagined, though. 

Ordered new "pads" and replaced the ice switch. Holding off on replacing the water switch as it is still functioning. Replacement was very simple.
