How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4365077 / 6-919765 Panel- Con

Replaced the Control Panel. Watched Youtube video (link below) although I had replaced this control panel before. Brendan Cheever provided good instructions...including pointing out an unnecessary step that save me some time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ny8jZEUK5wo 

I REPLACED THE CIRCUT BOARD FIRST THINK IT CONTROLED EVERYTHING. NO CHANGE. THE SECOND TIME WAS THE CHARM. I REPLACED THE TOUCH PANEL AND THAT DID IT. 

I replaced control panel. The only trouble I had was replacing the front panel on the dishwasher. 

Researched problem and solution on AppliancePartsPros.com and determined that it was likely a bad control panel. Ordered the part, which arrived very quickly, watched an entertaining youtube video and replaced it. The video we watched had one missing step we discovered accidentally - after all screws are removed, you have to pull up on the door handle - it slides up and releases the control panel. After that, it was a piece of cake. 

I checked the power coming in to the unit and checked the door switch with a meter and found that both were OK. I figured it must be the main power board or the control panel. I researched the problem on-line and found that it was a little more likely that it was the control panel and not the board. I ordered the panel from appliance parts pros and replaced it within 30 minutes. The machine took about 5 minutes (longer than normal) to start up but has been working fine ever since. I also realized that this unit requires maintenance as I also found the bottom spray arm was not working properly. In addition, the accumulator filter had to be replaced since some of the film material was not secure. So the pump was basically pumping particulates back on to the dishes and leaving a film. 

I ordered a new control panel from Appliance Part Pros, installed it after watching a youtube video, and had a working dishwasher a few days later. There were a few steps involved, but it wasn't hard. The local appliance repair place would have been a two week wait just to come out and diagnose the problem, then another wait to order the part and come back and install it, not to mention a whole lot more money!! 

When I described the problem with our dishwasher the assistant on the chat line wanted to see me a circuit board and it took me a while to convince her that I needed control panel and she then confirmed that I needed part # AP4365077 for my Jennair dishwasher model JDB1100AWS. However, luckily I insisted and received the correct part A second hurdle was that I didn't readily figure out that none my hexagonal wrenches would work and that I had to get a torch screw driver from the hard wear store. Luckily the torch screw driver set came with a nut driver that fit perfectly (and which I hadn't thought of either upfront). After this the repair was smooth sailing - it took me about 45 min including cleaning and removal of 7 years worth of gunk and calcium deposits around the door hinges. Replaced control panel. I had to take apart the door twice though because the ribbon cable has to be inserted correctly. The latch that holds the ribbon cable in must be pulled out, new cable inserted, then latch pushed back in. Overall not too bad. 

Went to you tube. Watched a couple of presentations. Figured out problem. Ordered part. Took 1/2 hour to install. Now have clean dishes.
