After taking off the lid, front panel, and removing the casing I had not found any problems with any switches or timers. I then decided to take the belt off and found a damaged part on the bottom of the drain pump. I searched online and found the part I need at AppliancePartsPros.com. I put the machine back together and waited for the part to arrive. I installed the drain pump quickly, put the belt back on and crossed my fingers and toes. After a successful "no clothes" wash cycle I ran a small load and was still happily dry and draining. I used the machine all weekend and have seen no problems so far. This was my first actual washing machine repair.
Identifying the problem was difficult and time consuming for me, The actual repair was quick and easy.
