How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008663 / WP35-6780 Washer Drain Pump Assembly

Bought a water pump from Appliance Parts Pros. Replacement was easy and fast with the help of the video. Problems resolved. 

First I thought it might be a slipping belt so I ordered one from Appliance Parts Pros. After removing the old belt, I spun the water pump and discovered that it was the cause of the grinding noise I was hearing. I looked up the water pump from Appliance Parts Pros and found they showed a video for replacing the pump. That was a great help in performing this repair. I saved money I would have spent for a service call and the labor charge to replace the pump. In about 29 minutes I had my washer back in service thanks to that video. I have ordered parts before from Appliance Parts Pros in the past and will continue when needed in the future. 

New pump and belt. 

I ordered the correct part from APP. It was at my house within 3 days. I installed the pump and new belt in less than 30min. The parts all fit well even though the machine is at least 20 years old. 

I was able to replace the drain pump assembly, but the part that came was slightly different than the original part. There is a bit of noise that I hear, maybe due to the new pump. But no leaks and works great. 

Very easy, I checked the parts needed on your website. Ordered the parts, and I got exactly what I needed in a couple of days. Took me 30 minutes to take out the old pump and install the new pump. Also changed the drive belt. 

Replaced pump.
