How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008107 / WP3363394 Washer Drain Pump

Replace pump 

Removing control panel with screwdriver, unclamping lid control and removing pinch clips that hold the back on, tilting body 45 degrees and lifting it to remove, located the pump and removed by unclipping and using pliers to separate from hoses, replaced with new pump and put it all back together. easy as pie, im a 27 year old woman who has never done this before and it was very simple following the video instructions. thank you. 

Replaced Whirlpool direct drive washer pump. 

Took off old one and replaced it new on. Less than 30min. Probably closer to 15. Perfect replacement part. Fixed the issue. 

Changed the water pump. 

Replacing the leaky washer pump was trickier than was shown in the repair video. The pump was rusted onto the shaft and took quite a bit of energy to break loose. I had to scrape a lot of rust off the shaft in order to get the new pump to slide on. I guess it had been leaking much longer than I suspected. After that the pump installed as advertised and thanks to the instruction video the rest went back together very easily. Now I am a hero and an appliance repairman. 

A former repair man deleted the grommets from the motor mount plate, the spring fastening the motor to the bracket broke the screw inside the motor and once the motor fell out of place the drive to the the transmission was broken. 

Replaced the leaking hose and clamps. Installed a new pump and solenoid water control valves. Upon a complete disassembly performed a major cleanup as it needed it badly as this unit is over 10 years old! With this service it should last another 10 years! 

I found videos on You tube, on similar problems, with the Whirlpool Top load Washer, sure enough it was the "Water Pump", easy fix only about 10 minutes to fix after I received the part, that was at my Hhouse in 2 days after I ordered it! And just like in another video, there was a piece of "wire" stuck in the old water pump! 

Replacing the pump and an old hose that was on the verge of cracking was a surprisingly simple snap-out-snap-in process. The parts arrived within days and I was able to service the washer in about a half hour. This old machine lives to clean once again!
