How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008659 / WP35-6465 Drain Pump Assembly

I removed the old part cross referenced the number on your site and order it. Very good delivery time. When it arrived it took 20 minutes to install, back in service and going very well. 

After replacing the drain pump assembly, all started working like new. Fyi always watch the videos before doing anything, it really helps. 

Maytag washer is 20 years old. I used the diagnosis section of the website. Orders thrust bearing kit, pump, lower main bearing, belt, and snubber ring. The diagnosis was right on. I thought I would be sending some parts back, but I needed all. The installation videos are great!! They saved me time and kept me safe from the 200-pound force brake spring! Thanks for the great repair and savings from buying a new washer/dryer. I use to be in appliance repair 40 years ago. Nice to know I have not lost that ability. Replaced snubber ring, springs, and pump. Ordered parts and received them within 24 hrs.

You guys are so fantastic! I'm a 70-year-old woman, and dreaded calling that famous "Maytag Repair Man". Your website described my problem exactly, told me what part to order, gave a very detailed video of how to fix it, even told what size sockets (you call them nut-drivers) to use on each nut that had to be removed! It was super-simple, didn't take me 15 minutes to swap out the parts and it works like a charm now, for about 1/4 the cost of you-know-who! 

I took it apart and added the new parts and it was wonderful. 

Found drain pump to be bad 

Washer stopped running. Making buzzing sound as if something was locked up. Naturally, I assumed it was the motor, so I took the belt off and turned it back on. Motor seemed to be working, so next thing was the water pump. This thing was completely locked up and destroyed!! Ordered the part from you guys, and literally 5 bolts, reinstall the belt, brand new washer. Thanks guys!! 

Removed belt and checked pulleys, found pump pulley had play and bearings didn't move freely. Ordered a new pump and watched video on pump replacement. Part arrived two days later, installed pump and put outer shell back on machine then reconnected water hoses. Washing machine now working like new! NOTE: the part replacement goes fast, less than 15 min. Time to disconnect and reconnect, and cleanup another 15 to 20 mins. This repair was really easy to do and I would recommend and order from Appliance Parts Pros again. Thanks for saving me a few hundred $'s.
