Robert W Middletown , NJ December 26, 2018 Appliance: Model MAYTAG A412 SERIES 04 Washer's water pump seized smelled burning rubber. Couldn't find parts for my Maytag washer; well over 20 years old. Called a repair guy to help assess, they wanted $400 to do the repair. Diagnostic fee was $80. Positive result was I got part numbers for the pump and belts and as usual AppliancePartsPros.com had them in stock. Even better was a video they posted about how easy it was to do the repair, so I ordered the pump and got belts just because I would have it all opened up, and did the repair in 20 mins, parts were an EXACT match. No more need to shop for a new washer, that should hold it for several more years. And I did it for less than half the cost. THANKS! Charlotteanne Y Kingston , IL August 06, 2018 Pretty much everything Here's the story. All my appliances except the dryer broke. Yeah. talk about bad luck. First I tried to fix the refrigerator. Replaced both motherboard and inverter board. Now it wakes up but the compressor does not kick in. Need another part. The washer, well I have to pull out the sink to get enough room to pull out the washer to fix it. Since the refriigerator is still in the middle of the kitchen, I don't need to tear apart another room. Nevertheless, let me say this, I love my "older" appliances and I am not ready to give up. Tearing apart the washer on a Saturday afternoon is just fun to me. So far all I did was replace an inlet device I bought a while ago. I need to replace the injector hose yet but the leaking is almost gone. But the great thing about appliance parts pros is they keep the model # on record. It was long gone off of my Maytag when I first needed a part and I had to do some internet research to figure out a reasonable guess and what I ordered fit so, yay! I'll just tell the other customers; do it! My kids watched me fix stuff in their growing up years. One tore apart his bathroom to remodel it. The other graduated from engineering school. I'd say one repair begets 3 successes. Buy the way, I also needed a mirror to see behind the machine.and the 2 hours was mostly climbing around the sink to get behind the washer. Rob P Wapwallopen , PA October 20, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer A612S Water did not pump out and the washer continued to run to the next wash cycle I live chatted with an expert who after asking several questions and checking a few things finally determined it was most likely a defective pump. It took me less than 30 minutes to replace the pump and the washer was up and running. Carl K Mendota , IL April 13, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer A512S My Maytag washer purchased in 1989 would no longer empty out the dirty water on "spin" cycle. The simplicity of the design and easy access helped me to determine that the semi-transparent discharge pump's internal impeller was not spinning just by removing the front panel. Unplugging the power, turning off the water supply, manully draining the tub and tipping the machine back and keeping it safely balanced were the most physical part of the job. It was easy to remove and replace the two hoses and three screws attached to the pump. I also easily replaced both washer tub and drain pump drive belts at this time. Hoping for another 30 years of use. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set
Monte D Lexington , KY June 03, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer A211S The washer drain pump started making noise and when i checked it i realized the transmission was leaking I ordered a new drain pump, transmission seal and belt. I received my parts on the second day after I ordered them. Remove old pump and belts and transmission seal. Cleaned up all of the grease the the transmission had slung all over the bottom of the washer. Getting the brake asm. off to get to the seal was tricky since the special wrench is no longer available. But I was able to tap on it with a mallet and punch and get it to spin off and tighten it back the same way.The pump and belt were more straight forward of just remove and replace with new parts.
