I started by researching the problem online. I came to the conclusion that it was the lid switch because sometimes when I slammed the lid down after the washer stopped, it would start again. I found a picture of my washer which included all its parts. My loving husband looked and found out that if he took a screwdriver and pecked on the lid switch, the washer would start up again. I ordered the lid check switch on a Friday and the part came on Monday. It took my husband about 5 minutes to install the new part. My washer is a Maytag and is 30+ years old. After shopping for new washers and unfortunately not finding one like my old one, I cannot tell you how happy I was to find the part I needed. Originally, my husband talked to a repair man and he charged $100.00 to come look at the problem but also added due to the age of my washer, he probably wouldn’t be able to find parts. I cannot thank AppliancePartsPros.com enough for having the part I needed and getting it to me so quickly. Love you all as much as my old Maytag Washer.
