Unplug the machine to protect yourself and the fuse. Just one small phillips screw and the switch can be removed. Swap the wires to the new switch, re-secure it and it's done. Literally a 2 min. job. Note: If the machine fills but still won't cycle adjust the assembly by loosening it (one small hex head screw) slide the assembly forward and then backward until you hear 2 clicks. One heavy click and another lighter click, and tighten the assembly.
I was told by a Maytag repair man that the machine will fill without the switch, which is the same as out of adjustment, but will not run through the cycles. This is why the assembly adjustment is important.
This is the only part I have ever replaced on my 28 year old machine. Gotta Love it.
