How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007658 / WP3148953 Infinite Control Switch

Bought a new infinite switch and as we were at it brought a new element also. 

I went online to see what that switch was called. I found an infinite switch to replace the defective one. When I received the switch in the mail, I went online and watched a video on how to repair it. It was very simple. After shutting off power at the fuse box. I pulled out the stove and removed the control knob, unscrewed 2 screws on front, removed the screws holding the back panel, removed the panel, loosened the connections on the defective switch, put the connections on the new switch, screwed it back on front, put the back panel on, turned on the power and tested the burner. It works great! I have HI and LO and all settings between. 

I changed the Infinite burner switch. 

Super easy. I am NOT handy with tools. I just used a Philips screwdriver. Unscrew the back stove panel and set it aside. Remove the old switches and replaced them with new ones. Replaced the back panel and done. 

Replaced with new infinite switch which took all of 10 minutes. 

The switch was ordered and delivered as promised. The swapping out of the switch was relatively easy. Plenty of videos on the internet showing the process. This took less than 15 minutes. As a footnote: AppliancePartsPro had the exact replacement part number in their inventory. Make sure to match up part numbers. 

Replaced infinite switch. 

Replaced the switch. 

Changed the infinite switch. Replacement was very easy.
