How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007666 / WP3149400 Range Surface Element Switch

Replacing the Surface Unit Switch was quick, easy and solved both issues.

I watched the video on the Appliance Parts site and it was extremely helpful in seeing how to repair/replace the infinite controls switch. I ordered the parts one day and they arrived the next day. In 15 minutes I had the new parts in and the problems was solved. Great Job Appliance Parts!!! 

After watching the video tutorial on Appliance Parts Pro, I was confident I could fix it myself. I replace the part and it works great. Light is out and burner works fine. 

At first, not knowing what was causing the problem, we switched burners, but had the same results. At that point we knew it could either be bad wiring or a bad switch. The wiring did not have any visual defects, so we replaced the Infinite Switch aka Surface Unit Switch. 

Swapped wires to another switch to check if burner or switch was issue. Ordered switch, (followed directions this time and quickly replaced) 

My husband watched the video and we found the part we needed. It came quickly after ordering it..He replaced the unit. I appreciate the quick service and the video which I know he would not have attempted to replace the unit without seeing how it was done.. Thank you , this is the second time he has used your service. The first was replacing a dial knob on a washer. Both saved us money that we would have had to pay for a service man to come and do that. 

Googled the problem. Located the parts online at Appliance Parts. Ordered them. They came in about 3 days later ( may have been 2 ). I replaced them. Everything works as it should. Had I known the process would be that smooth, I would have fixed them a long time ago.
