How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006197 / WP22001025 Washer Timer Control

I don't know much about washing machines but I did some research online and was pretty sure this was being caused by the timer. I was correct and the new timer I ordered has us running again. Pretty happy about this considering the washer is at least 15 years old and never given me trouble so I was hoping I could repair it. 

Purchased new timer after reviewing similar problems on your website. Replaced timer. Works perfectly. NOTE: Knob is retained by a clip. Remove plastic cover on the knob to access clip - don't just yank on the knob! 

Replaced the timer and lid switch. 

Replaced timer. 

Replaced the tmer 

NO. I DID NOT FIXED IT BECAUSE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS THE PRESSURE SWITCH WHICH IS NO LONGER BEING MADE BY MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL. 

R&R timer. 

Had a friend to remove the screws. It was a simple fix., 

I replaced the timer mechanism. 

Easy job....part arrived in a n incredible two days... On Christmas Eve.....simple out and in exchange??
