This is an old Maytag top loader purchased around 1986. At this age, who knows how much longer we have. This machine owes us nothing. When my wife noticed wash was still wet when finished, I was ready to give in. Then I noticed that if I fiddled with the timer it would temporarily work. I looked up the model #, found and ordered the timer part. The cost was reasonable and I took a chance. The repair/replacement was easy and took about 15 min. The machine is now working fine and for the time being, I avoided spending a lot of money, getting a new machine.
