The fuel filter works similarly to the air filter for a carburetor, filtering debris from the fuel. The carburetor’s job is to mix clean air with gasoline to create combustible fuel for the engine to burn. Contaminants in the carburetor can clog it and prevent it from running efficiently. If your engine is running rough or not starting at all, it's time to check on your carburetor. It may need cleaning, repair, or replacement. Before you start that process, make sure the air filter and the fuel filter are both clean. In addition to saving time, you’ll save money by doing the work yourself and avoiding buying new equipment altogether. This part is compatible with almost any small lawn and garden engine manufactured by various brands including Walbro, Echo, Dolmar, Shindaiwa, and Makita. This fuel filter is a genuine OEM part. Sold individually.
This cleaner element is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is made specifically for Tanaka walk behind edgers to keep the airflow to the engine clear of contaminants. Edgers operate in very dusty environments, and this dust can clog carburetors and air lines, wearing down the engine's internal parts over time. If the cleaner element is dirty, the engine's performance will be reduced due to lack of air. If the filter is missing, dirt gets inside the engine. If the cleaner element is dirty, it should be replaced. Do not ever try to clean the air filter; it can cause damage which will necessitate a replacement, anyway. The cleaner element should be replaced regularly. Every two to four engine hours is recommended for small engines. Machinery like edgers that are operated in dusty conditions should be replaced more often. Before removing the housing, clean the dust and dirt off so that it doesn't get knocked into the engine. Remove the dirty filter and clean the interior before installing the new filter. This cleaner element is sold as an individual unit. It is made by Tanaka explicitly for use in the Tanaka walk behind edger.
Engines are not the cleanest machines to operate, and as the pistons move, they cause the engine to heat up. This heats air inside of the engine, and as air heats, it expands. Once the engine is turned off, it cools and the air condenses. The engine's crankcase, which is between the oil pan and lower area of the engine must get proper air flow. This air is delivered by a hose from the filter to the throttle body. It draws clean air into the engine, while another vacuum feed takes in the hot, dirty air from inside of the crankcase. This OEM replacement ships individually and is simple to replace. Crankcase ventilation has to be as effective as possible, and that is possible with this breather element air filter. For use in lawn mowers, small engines, tillers, wood chippers, generators, snowblowers and other machines, it works with many brands, including Craftsman, Toro, Cub Cadet, and others.
