This water inlet valve controls water flow to the refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser, restoring normal dispensing and ice production when the valve is faulty or leaking. What it does

• Opens and closes to allow water into the ice maker and dispenser as commanded by the refrigerator.
• Stops water flow to prevent overfilling; a failed valve can cause no water, slow flow, or continuous filling.
