I knew for sure that the hinge with the large spring was damaged, but elected to replace both hinges and receivers. Replacing the parts was fairly easy and would have taken me less then an hour. This model has thin metal covers over the hinge assemblies. I found that squeezing in the sides of the covers help to hold them in place on the hinge while reassembling the door. This oven was a Kenmore model #66595822003. I replaced both spring hinges. This oven was a white oven so it took the MFG# WP8053807 hinge (order two of them). They are the same hinge. No left or right. To get the door off the oven, open the door all the way open, I installed pins (preferably only 1/4" long) in the holes of both hinges. Then remove the spring steel retainers above old hinges in the oven frame. These holds hinges in place. Now close the door until hinge stops on pins. Lift up... Read more
