Gary W Argyle , NY September 12, 2020 Our Kenmore front load washer was making loud banging noises on spin cycles I was able to determine that both shock absorbers were bad. Also found one broken suspension spring. After replacing those items, I also decided to replace the drum drive belt and the door boot (bellows) as a precaution. It took me more time than anticipated to complete the repairs, but the end result was very satisfying. Our machine now operates like new. By doing the repairs myself, I figured the savings amounted to several hundred dollars over hiring outside appliance repair services. And we saved well over $1,000 over buying a new stacking washer/dryer set. I would not hesitate to tackle repairs in the future. Steve B Albany , OR November 30, 2016 Two broken shocks and a broken suspension spring Bought the shock absorber kit and new spring, watched both videos on installing new shocks and new spring. However, I had to remove an electrical box (two screws) to remove the bottom pin on the left side shock because the pin pushed up against the electrical box before coming out of the shock mount. Also, to replace the spring I did not have remove the back of the control panel, just the four screws that hold the whole top on and slid the top to one side.
