Michael B Wesley Chapel , FL May 12, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDW7800J03BB My ge profile dishwasher was making a loud (very loud) humming noise during operation I stood by the dishwasher as it went through the cycles and noted the noise only happened during the drain processes. To make this repair you have to take the dishwasher completely out from under the counter. (NOTE: print the schematic to help guide you to the location of the part and connections.) The pump is not accessible from underneath. I laid the dishwasher on its side. I recommend disconnecting the copper fill tubing before laying the machine over (I did not and crimped it). The pump is held on by two screws and two hose clamps. It removes easily and goes on easily. When you put the dishwasher in place, pour 4Q of water in the bottom as the first cycle is a drain cycle and needs water. On the old pump I noted that the impeller would not turn freely which was the cause of the hum. It now runs as quietly as it did when new. I also found the repair guide in the frame of the dishwasher AFTER I was done. It illustrates step by step how to test each cycle to diagnose any problems. Look for this before you guess at repairs. I do most of my own repairs and this was my first dishwasher. All of the parts look easy to replace on this model. Thomas W Oceanside , CA October 02, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher ZBD6880K00SS The dishwasher would not drain sometimes I replaced the pump drain assembly. The flapper valve was included in the assembly, so I did not need to order that. On previous repairs, the old drain hose was tricky to reinstall, so I replaced it and the hose clamp. The silverware basket had holes in the bottom and required replacement. I had some broken tine clips. Read More... 26 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set

Jerry H Candler , NC November 09, 2014 Dishwasher would not drain To start with I checked the discharge line and looked for obstructions in the tub but didn't find anything that should have stopped the drain so I decided that it must be a pump problem. having already pulled the machine out and disconnected the discharge line I realized there wasn't much to do to replace the pump. I did a Google search for the make and model of washer and Appliance Parts Pro came up and they seemed to be the most accurate and easy to use so I ordered the pump and within a couple of days it arrived. It took me a total of about 45 minutes to an hour to remove the washer take off the old pump and replace it with the new pump. I ran a test cycle and everything worked great. Linda C Warren , OH June 26, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDW7700J01BB My dishwasher was not draining fully We started by first disassembling the inside of the dishwasher. When we did this we found some broken glass in the bottom. I went to the parts website and looked for my problem to get suggestions. We assumed that since we found the glass that some must have gotten into the drain pump. We ordered the part. We especially liked the fact that there was a video available to show you how to complete the repair. Everything went smoothly and the dishwasher is working fine.
