Justin H Missoula , MT September 27, 2021 Leak from underneath the unit We pulled the dishwasher out, took it to the garage and set it up on sawhorses and planks so we could access the bottom. We plugged it in and filled it with water and ran a quick cycle. As soon as the circulation pump kicked on water came spraying out from the rubber boot in the diverter assembly. It appears that there was a factory defect in the hose. Unfortunately, the water got into the pump motor over a few loads and was eroding the brushes on the motor. We decided to replace it as well. Graphite was all over in the cooling ports. It's working great again after replacing both parts and the overnight shipping was amazing. Bruce T Columbia , MD March 26, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GDF610PGJ0WW The circulation pump in our GE dishwasher failed. After disconnecting the power and turning off the water, I removed the bottom skirt piece and sound insulation. With the door open, I removed the two screws at the top that were holding the unit in place. Then the unit could easily be moved out from underneath the counter. With towels on the floor, I gently put the unit on it’s left side which gave me easy access to the pump. A thin screwdriver head was used to carefully disconnect the plug from the pump. I then used adjustable pliers to remove the clamps from the inlet and outlet of the pump, which was then easy to remove from the unit. Putting the new clamps provided first, I then reassembled the unit. This was a little tricky as it required more or less simultaneously inserting each end of the pump and sliding the unit bracket arm into position. I then tightened the clamps securely, and reconnected the electrical plug to the pump. I then stood the unit upright, and since I had adequate power cord and water connection, I was actually able to rest run the unit before returning it to its place under the counter. To my profound relief, the unit didn’t leak and ran like new! After running it for a cycle I slid the unit back under the counter being careful not to damage the insulation, reattached the top screws securing it, and replacing the original sound insulation and skirt plate. All-in-all, it took about two hours, including waiting for the 49 minute “light” cycle to run. John B Weiser , ID October 12, 2019 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GDT580SGF8WW Wash pump inoperative Purchased and installed the wash pump (kit) and the wire harness. The unit is working like new. I rated this repair as 4/5 difficulty due to challenges with removing and reinstalling the dishwasher. However, with the dishwasher removed, the repair itself was relatively easy and straightforward. Thomas Y Vancouver , WA March 16, 2025 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GDT635HMM0ES Dishwasher would not run cycle In the 7 years we have owned this appliance I have basically rebuilt this thing. So the washer would start and fill the basin, but the water pressure was super low. Once the basin was full, the cycle should start, but it didn't. It would basically sit there for an hour and do nothing. A little bit of spray would occur, and the soap door would open but the soap wouldn't get wet enough to melt. It would go on to do the drying cycle. I had a feeling this was the problem, but another review on this site sealed the deal with the exact symptoms I had.
