Marcel S Orlando , FL June 30, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Washer WPSE4200A0WW Ge washer was shaking / vibrating excessively during rinse / spin cycle I replaced all 4 suspension rods and springs and now it spins very smooth. They weren't broken, just badly worn. It gave new life to my 15 year old GE Profile washer. They are basically springs, so they wear after a while. It was well worth the hour I spent fixing it. You need a good long reach to get to the back 2 and you have to take off the dampening straps and the control panel so you can gain access. All in all, I'm happy with the repair, although I though that these parts are bit pricey for what they are, but at least the labor was free. If you watch the video online, anybody can do this repair. Jason M Lancaster , PA June 02, 2014 Ge top load washing machine suspension rod failure The metal washer at the top of suspension rod must have gotten bleach on it as it deteriorated through the metal till it ripped it open with te weight of the water and then ripped apart te plastic piece underneith. Thankfully when this failed I was loading it as if it happened web I was away I suspect the engine or belt would have burned up. New rod assembly arrived a day before I had expected it, which was great. Rod comes pre setup. Install was simplest a matter of putting in top first and then bottom. Because this was a front suspension it helped making this a very easy repair. Rear ones require more disassembling.
