How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2046167 / WH16X543 Suspension Rod & Spring Assembly

I replaced the suspension rods. the repair vidio made this repair a no brainer 

I viewed the instruction videos on Appliance Parts Pro's web site for all of the parts. Replaced all 4 suspension rods and spring assemblies, rod supports, and washer tub dampening straps. Also replaced the washer agitator coupler due to the rattle when moving the coupler by hand. 

The metal washer at the top of suspension rod must have gotten bleach on it as it deteriorated through the metal till it ripped it open with te weight of the water and then ripped apart te plastic piece underneith. Thankfully when this failed I was loading it as if it happened web I was away I suspect the engine or belt would have burned up. New rod assembly arrived a day before I had expected it, which was great. Rod comes pre setup. Install was simplest a matter of putting in top first and then bottom. Replaced the suspension rods. 

The leaking hose turned out to be the hose from the tank to the pump. That was a one banana repair. Super easy after watching the video to get the front off. After getting the cover off to find the leak, I found that three of the four damper straps were broken. Crazy easy to fix, though the back two really required smaller hands. Still, I had all four replaced in about 5 minutes, and I'm ashamed it took that long. While I was under the hood I decided to replace the suspension rods in the front. It looks like there are two more in the back that the video didn't show. Those look like a royal PITA to replace, so I will save them for another day. Regardless, between replacing the damper straps, and those two rods, my washer is now way quiet on spin. Thanks for making this easy and economical to repair. 

Diagnosed the problem with help from Appliance Parts Pro's online videos. Ordered the part and it was delivered in less than 24 hours. Installed it as described in Appliance Parts Pro's video. 

I ordered and replaced the dampening straps and stiffening rods. Customer support was very helpful on the phone. I did a small and a medium load on the “delicate” setting since and it was just fine. 

After discovering what was wrong with my washer, I searched for the replacement parts on appliance parts pros website and located what I needed. I was very happy to have the videos showing detailed steps for replacement. It turned out that I had done much unneeded disassembly on my machine, and the videos on the site showed me the quick and easy way to install my new parts. I put my panels back on, and following the steps in the videos, I fixed my washer in 15 minutes for about $30. That is a very successful Sunday afternoon. 

I took the time to take the face off the washer, lift up the top cover, replace the rod, very, very, basic. Took longer to take apart than replacing the rod.
