I changed the motherboard - computer and also changed the motor in the freezer, because it was doing a howling sound every time it turned on. The repair technician asked for $500 for a repair and that is on top of the $230 I paid him two days before. I looked up the parts and decided to try myself and it paid off. • Fridge runs too long

First, cleaned all the dirt and lint from the condenser radiator, the fan motor is in a metal housing holding the fan motor in place. look carefully and there is a sheet metal screw at the bottom of the housing, 1/4 inch screw head sheet metal screw. My refrigerator's cooling fan was making a noise. It wasn't loud; in fact, it was barely discernible. However, it was just loud enough to annoy me. This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. Replaced the motor with a new one, if I can offer any advice about doing this job, make sure to keep track of where each wire goes on the motor and whatever wires need to be disconnected. After removing the rear panel, I vacuumed the area. Then was easy to see condenser fan not spinning. I replaced the fan with a compression ring and a fan motor. First pulled the wiring harness connected to fan motor, then pulled off the fan with hands. Then used a wrench to remove 2 bolts for the motor. Next, pushed on new fan and screwed in the 2 bolts for the motor. Initially, I purchased a new temperature control to replace as well but after replacing fan and motor, I believe it was still... I googled the issue and read several articles. Most started with cleaning the coils (which mine are on the bottom) (19yr old Kenmore 363.9557812). I had not really ever cleaned them well, vacuuming did little. I had to remove the cardboard cover off the back of the frig, and blew them clean (front to back). I could hear the dryer motor hum, but it would not run. There was nothing obstructing the motor from turning freely so I assumed I needed a new motor. I went ahead and ordered a new pulley switch to change out while I was in there just in case. The parts arrived faster than expected. I changed the switch first and then checked the old motor which surprisingly fired right up. Now I have to decide whether to return the new motor or keep it as a spare. Read more

I had found that the fan in the freezer was making a lot of noise. Turns out the shaft was loose, causing the flan blade to wobble. Replaced the motor and fan and now it runs like a new unit. Read more

1. Unplug the power, 2. Removed the shelving and Ice maker including power cord, 3. Removed the air flow conduits, 4. Removed the back panel, 5. Removed evaporator fan housing and drop down then un clip power supply and remove evaporator fan housing and all and set on a flat surface, 6. Remove the upper bracket holding in evaporator and remove evaporator fan ( be sure to remove the fan blade you'll need it for the new motor ) 7. Replaced the evaporator fan motor. On line video did a good job showing how to remove and install the motor. It took about 2 hours to remove, 3 days to recieve the new part and 3 hours to put it in. Plugged in the refrigerator and looked at the freezer temp the next morning and the thermometer was at zero degrees F with good air flow. Refrigerato temperature is reading 40 degrees F. Read more
