I ordered a new burner and switch. Received all parts in only one day. Shut breaker, pulled out the range to work on it. Removed the front panel to replace the switch first which was the easy part of the job, only 6 screws. Installed new switch, turned on the breaker to test and found that the burner heated up proving that only the switch was bad. It took a while to figure out what was going on but I noticed the oven light would come on and the convection fan would shut off. I would push the door shut and everything would work for a while and then it would start all over. I noticed the oven gasket was very hard in places and that was what was causing the door to not close. It was not a hinge problem.
