Ordered control panel and run capacitor and compressor relay (or controller as they call it). Control panel was the problem but after 10 years of running never hurts to replace a capacitor and relay. Read more

Decided that the leaking door gasket was worth fixing. New gasket had wrinkles that I have not figured out how to solve. A friend assured me that a new (soft) gasket, WITH a magnetic edge toward the steel door frame, will "heal" in a few days. Glad to know that. Read more

Looked for obvious signs of mal-function, burned wires, etc. I found that the compressor controller(attached to the compressor) had an obvious burned-out spot. Took a chance that was the problem (it was); ordered all new OEM parts, including a new timer and run capacitor (a part that kicks in every time the compressor starts).
