Lawn Chief Log Splitter Transmission, Brake & Clutch
Genuine Mtd part
By: Mtd
Part Number: 735-04103
This is an authentic replacement spider bushing from MTD that is used for a range of different types of lawn and garden equipment. The purpose of the spider bushing is to connect the metal hubs of jaw couplings. The torque will then be transmitted through the spider in compression. The spider and the rest of the coupling can help to minimize vibration and compensate for misalignment. The spider bushings are made from elastomer. Over time, they can start to wear out, and they will no longer serve their purpose. Owners should replace the bushings if they become cracked, worn, or broken. Adding the spider bushings to the jaw coupling is simple. They will fit together by pressing them, with the metal jaws from the hubs meshing with the arms of the spider bushing. This is a genuine OEM spider bushing that is identical to the one that came with the equipment. The piece is sold individually, and it works with many models of log splitter and lawnmower. Compatible brands include Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Yard Machines, MTD, and Yard-Man.

This is an authentic OEM replacement .875 coupling for a log splitter. This coupling is used to connect the hydraulic pump shaft and the engine shaft. The engine provides power to the hydraulic pump, which then creates a stream of highly pressurized oil that causes the valve to engage the hydraulic cylinder and split a log. This coupling works in conjunction with a Lovejoy-style rubber spider and .500 coupling. The constant vibrations created by a running engine can wreak havoc on a coupling. Over time, these vibrations can cause the coupling to give out, especially if it is not sized or torqued correctly. Therefore, it is crucial to always check the owner's manual before replacing a part. For safety purposes, be sure to remove the spark plug before disassembling the hydraulic pump. This repair will require a torque driver to tighten the coupling into place. This replacement .875 coupling is a high-quality part sourced directly from its original manufacturer. It is compatible with log splitters made by Huskee, MTD, Troy-Bilt, and Cub Cadet. This part does not include the required .500 coupling or the rubber spider coupling. These parts must be purchased separately.

The Logsplitter Coupling is a jaw coupling fitted for log splitters. Jaw couplings are flexible couplings that can protect other more sensitive parts from deleterious effects such as heat expansion, vibration, shaft misalignment, and shock loads. The couplings connect two shafts to transmit torque. Jaw couplings are generally used in conjunction with spider bushings. This product is made of durable metal to provide strength while also supporting the alignment of the two connecting shafts. The Logsplitter Coupling is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer and it is sold individually. Spider bushings are sold separately. This piece can be damaged by normal use, in which case it will need to be replaced. A set of socket wrenches, needle nose pliers, and a screwdriver may be necessary during replacement to help install this part correctly. The Coupling-Logsplitt should be connected to the log splitter's engine shaft as well as the hydraulic pump. The part should be attached next to the rear coupling support bracket. The Logsplitter Coupling is compatible for use with log splitters made by MTD, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, and Yard Machines.
