Ryan T Indianapolis , IN January 20, 2017 Appliance: LG Washer WM2016CW Wobbling/loud tub on lg washer (broken spider) I opted to save myself about $600 by repairing my 8 year old LG washing machine rather than buying a new one. After watching some videos I determined what I needed upon taking my washing machine apart. I ended up replacing the tub (includes spider and shaft), since I could not get the spider part removed from the original tub, as well as the motor bolt (which had broken when I removed it from the original tub's shaft). The spider was cracked and the shaft was wobbling which caused it to sound like it belonged at a construction site. I also found that one of the locking pins had came out at some point, which probably helped lead to the broken spider as the tub was not held down evenly. I ordered the replacement parts on a Sunday night and they were delivered by Thursday around 11am. The repair did take some time (i.e. a couple nights), as this was my first time doing this, but the videos online (check out buyspares and appliancepartspros.com) help walk you through the process. Just make sure you take pictures before you remove parts and separate and label the bolts and screws so you will know where they go. It is a time consuming process, but you'll be glad you saved a lot of money and you can enjoy the pride of repairing it yourself. I was impressed with only having to pay $8.99 to have the parts delivered by FEDEX in just 2 days and the purchase price was less than other sites. This was my first purchase from appliancepartspros.com and I will gladly do so again if needed. Frank F Long Valley , NJ October 04, 2015 Appliance: LG Washer WM2801HRA Rotor assembly was stripped at connection point I did some research on line after we had a service professional out and he could not determine the fix. I removed the bolt attaching the rotor assembly, removed the rotor and saw that it was partially stripped. Went on to partspro.com put in model #, and part required, and ordered it. I added the bolt to my order, and received the parts in three days. Put the part on in about ten minutes and the washer is like new again running great. Mark T Dayton , TX March 08, 2017 Appliance: Model LG FRONT LOADER Smoke inside the washer during the spin cycle vibrating noisy Replaced the spider. Had a problem getting one of the bolts out of the spider(stripped out). Cut bolt with a reciprocating saw. Had to replace baffle after cutting the spider bolt. Note: The spider was broken in 2 places. It appeared to have failed from galvanic corrosion. The inner tub and spider bolts are stainless steel and the spider is cast iron. LG needs to look at this design flaw. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set

Peter M Bethpage , NY March 15, 2015 Appliance: Model WM1832CW. LG WASHER Replace drum bearings and seals on tub and bearing replaced spider It went well ,I used some advice from other repairs like I had to use a bolt to bang out drum from tub. I didn't have an old one I used existing one then I ordered a new one. I think the hardest part Was the knocking out of spider shaft from inner tub the rest was real easy, about three to four hours each way meaning take apart then put together. The best advice I can give is take it apart first then order parts, also if your doing the bearings and seal change the spider too,I mean depending on how old the unit is. Mine was 11 years old ,my spider wasn't bad ,but for 70 bucks you'll regret it if it goes bad cause you where too proud or excuse my French too cheap. Also change tub seal its5 bucks worth it. All in all,my cost was 140 dollars with shipping, runs great. That's what a repair man would charge just to come to your house.and yes a tip from other repair when you take out back shock last is swivels forward and shock comes apart, easy to put together again ,I saw two brown strips on floor didn't know what they where, then I remember the other review tip. Total time 6 hours and I'm a mechanic, imagine what repair people would charge for this good luck to all,go for it it's easy. Read More...
