Lawrence C Saratoga Springs , NY June 14, 2015 Roebuck (kenmore) ice maker failure ~ 4 5 yrs old Ice sensing lever (keyed onto mtr shaft) found down and would not budge. Also, test button (hidden beneath mtr) only 'beeped' when pushed. The 10 pin connector's 'clip' is also hidden against roof of freezer - mine broke but connection still seems secure. New unit was exact fit - test button (now) cycles thru one cycle of rotation and H2O fill with no beeps.... 18 hrs later, bin is half full....ice for the summer :) Remove freezer door (front) so you can lay down and look up. Cold plastic was worrisome but fit was exact - no issues except connector. Read More... 39 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Screwdrivers

After seeing pictures of the ice maker in place, I could tell the sensor arm was broken because it was hanging down. Once I received the replacement unit, it was two screws, one connector, and the ice starting working again Read More... 17 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
David M Grand Junction , CO June 28, 2022 Appliance: Kenmore Refrigerator 79579043313 Ice not dumping. The hardest part was deciding to drop $200 for basically the icemaker. My ice maker had become "etched" with minerals and whatnot from the water resulting in the ice not fully dumping which caused water to spill over into the bin creating one huge ice block. Replaced the entire unit, 2 Philips screws, unplugged the power/data connection, and swapped. Couldn't have been easier. Now our ice maker works again!!!
