The ice maker and auger motor assembly powers the mechanisms that produce ice and push it from the storage bin through the dispenser chute. Without a functioning motor, the ice maker will stop producing ice and the auger will no longer move ice to the dispenser. The left hinge works on the right side as well as the left. All you have to do is unscrew the little plastic post and move it to the other hole. Removed the freezer drawers, ice maker, and panel that the fan motor is attached to. Changed out the fan motor reinstalled everything and plugged it in, and presto. I had ordered the control board just in case but didn't need it. The fan motor wasn't the easier part to replace but it was the cheaper of the two. Because the old motor would run for just a short time I assumed that it wasn't sending a signal back to the control board telling it that it was running. I was right!! Read more

This is the button or lever assembly mounted on the front panel of the refrigerator dispenser. It activates the water or ice dispenser when pressed. Replace this assembly if the dispenser button is cracked, sticking, unresponsive, or if the dispenser no longer activates when the lever is pushed.
