The Thermistor is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This temperature-sensitive sensor monitors conditions inside refrigerator and freezer compartments. It provides critical feedback to the electronic control module, regulating cool air temperature in both sections.

Symptoms of a faulty thermistor include:

  • Fluctuating temperatures where sections become too warm or cold
  • Frequent cycling of evaporator fans and cooling components
  • Defrost issues or Er/Ed error codes shown on displays

Causes can involve regular exposure to changing interior environments over many years. Mineral deposits accumulating may lead to sensor surfaces becoming insulated. Physical stress from overloading could potentially crack the thermistor over time as well.

This OEM replacement part is compatible with some Kenmore Elite models too.

This 48-inch defrost heater melts frost and ice off the evaporator coil so the refrigerator can maintain proper cooling. Replaces a failed or broken evaporator heater to help restore normal defrost cycles and airflow. What it does:

  • Heats the evaporator coil during the defrost cycle to remove built-up ice
  • Helps restore proper airflow and consistent cooling when frost is blocking the coil
  • Commonly used when you see heavy frost buildup, extended cooling cycles, or a warm refrigerator/freezer compartment
  • Works with the appliance's defrost control and thermostat to operate only during defrost cycles
What's included:
  • One 48-inch defrost heater
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid electric shock
  • Access the evaporator by removing the back panel inside the freezer; handle the heater and evaporator fins carefully to avoid damage
  • Reassemble panels and restore power; run a manual defrost cycle to confirm operation

This heater clamp secures a heating element in the correct position within the appliance. Proper support keeps the element stable so it operates quietly and melts frost as designed for consistent, reliable performance.

  • Holds the heater firmly in place to maintain correct alignment
  • Reduces movement and vibration that can cause noise or wear
  • Helps promote even frost melt during defrost for steady cooling
  • Symptoms of a damaged or missing clamp can include recurring frost/ice buildup, a heater out of position, or rattling from the freezer area
What's included: Heater clamp Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; wear cut-resistant gloves
  • Access the heater/evaporator by removing the freezer panel as applicable
  • Note the original clamp orientation and routing before removal
  • Use needle-nose pliers to install; avoid damaging evaporator fins and do not deform the heater—position it exactly as originally placed

A replacement drain pan that captures defrost and condensation water to keep it contained and away from the cabinet and floor. Restores the appliance's normal water-collection path and helps reduce leaks. What it does:

  • Collects melting ice and condensation from the evaporator to prevent water from pooling under the appliance.
  • Channels collected water toward the drain system so it evaporates or exits as designed.
  • Stops common symptoms like puddles or moisture under the unit and musty odors caused by standing water.
  • Fits under the evaporator/coil area to restore proper water management.
What's included: One drain pan. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before service to avoid electrical hazards.
  • Remove the required access panels or move the appliance per the manufacturer's guidance to reach the pan.
  • Lift out the old pan carefully—it may contain standing water—and position the replacement so the drain outlet and routing match the OEM layout.
  • After installation, restore power and check for proper water flow during a defrost cycle; inspect surrounding seals and tubing for proper seating.

  • Helps ensure the fresh-food and freezer compartments share airflow as intended
  • Commonly replaced when frost or ice accumulates near the damper or when the damper fails to open/close smoothly
  • Works as part of the damper/air control system; does not include the full damper housing or actuators unless specified
What's included: One damper heater element. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before replacing this part to avoid shock or injury
  • Access may require removing interior panels or the damper housing; follow OEM instructions for your model
